About Ameriquest Field Opening in 1994, Ameriquest Field in Arlington can be said to be a mix of old and new ballparks. With an aging Arlington Stadium, a new ballpark for the Texas Rangers needed to be built. The Rangers began lobbying for a new stadium in the late 1980's. On October 24, 1990, an agreement between the Texas Rangers and the City of Arlington was reached to build a new stadium. Constructed just a quarter of a mile from Arlington Stadium, construction on the stadium began April 24, 1993. It took only 23 months for the stadium to be constructed. . . . .more |
