About The Arco Arena The $40 million, 442,000 square-foot arena opened in 1988 and was built without taxpayer money. The current configuration seats up to 17,317 and is versatile enough to host anything from ice shows to monster trucks. ARCO Arena is home to the Sacramento Kings of the NBA and the WNBA's Sacramento Monarchs. ARCO Arena has twice been host to the NCAA Western Regional Men's Basketball Tournament.
