Oak Mountain State Park, the largest state park in Alabama, is right in Pelham's backyard. Scenic hiking trails, horseback riding, a petting farm for youngsters, fishing, boating and golf are just a few of the activities offered at this beautiful park located on 10,000 acres.

The American Village, just 15 minutes from Pelham, is one of Alabama's best-kept secrets. It is a nationally pioneering civic education center and historical village. Exact replicas of colonial buildings offer visitors the opportunity to step back to a time when our country was founded. Interpreters dressed in period costumes offer insight into historical events from the past.

The city park offers a wonderful playground for children, a walking track and picnic areas.

The Verizon Wireless Music Center schedules concerts May - September.

The Pelham Racquet Club is a public tennis facility consisting of 20 clay courts and 5 hard courts, all lighted with above tournament grade lighting. The entire facility is beautifully landscaped on three tiers providing function and visibility to all courts. In addition to tournaments; lessons, league play, ladders and socials are active year round. Racquet services and a complete pro shop are also available.

The Pelham Parks & Recreation Department is dedicated to providing and maintaining quality athletic programs and facilities in a clean, attractive, and operable condition that promotes safety, improves quality of life, and encourages unity and pride within the community.

The department is responsible for maintaining the city park and four neighborhood parks. The city park is centrally located off Highway 31. Four neighborhood parks are located in Chandalar, Oak Mountain Estates, Mallard Pointe, and Fun-Go-Holler Park, the newest addition to the park system, is located beside the Pelham Racquet Club off of Highway 52.
